how to tell if upper or lower Ball J
how do you tell if the upper or lower is bad i can wiggle my wheel top to bottom if jacked up and can feel it in bumps a little. oh yeah 38,000miles thats bul@#$%^

That's about it for the test. But it would be nice to feel back there as someone else moves the wheel to determine if it's ball joints or wheel bearings.

I agree with rbertalotto, have a friend help. When I did mine you could see the movement in the hub, they were toasted. Had to do hubs and ball joints

Some play is allowed if you talk to a dealer.
Most front end shops will have a look for nothing.

Jack up. Put big bar under tire pry up. Have some on look for play in upper or lower Ball joints. If no play there, porbably the hub bearings
