which is better of the 2? I want a little more braking power when towing since i went to 35's. i pull a 6x12 tandem axle enclosed with 2-3 bikes.

I like the Prodigy for the reason that is is very simple and works. I have never used the Primus though.

I just picked up a new TT and had the Prodigy put in.
I really like it. I haven'y towed in some time, but this thing really does what it says!

I've never been a fan of Tekonsha, had issues with a couple. I have a Haynes Genesis and I love it, seamless, no jerking, pretty much automatic. It works beautify no matter the weight of the trailer, i've used it on a single axle 15' empty and loaded, and on a 15k fifth wheel and no issues.

They are the same control. Tekonsha removed the self leveling device and turbo boost feature from the Prodigy and put a manual lever on the right side of the Primus to tell which way was down and to increase braking. The also gave it a little less amperage 1-3 brake axle compared to the 1-4 brake axles of the Prodigy. It was basically designed to compete against the newer a better controls hitting the market that were having to take a price cut because of the Prodigy's strong name. Technically the Primus is the P2 that is why their big brother is called the P3.

The Prodigy is great. Takes a few test stops to dial it in, but after that you never have to mess with it again. Seamless!

I had a Prodigy and went to a P-3 on my new truck.....really like it.

Prodigy is great P3 is better as it allows for both electric only or elec/hyd brakes

Prodigy all the way. I use it everyday hauling Bobcats and other heavy equipment.
