Tcw3 2stroke oil

i know this is a common question on here, but i cant find any info about the guys running it in the 3rd gen trucks? any problems with mixing the low ash tcw-3 in the common rails? i have seen guys do it in older gen. trucks but havent heard of guys running it in these. Let me know what you think. I am using Power service as of now but might switch. thanks

I use it regularly. 16oz per fillup. When I don't use it I swear injection noise is louder.

Exactly what trik396 said. But I still use Power Service or Howes(winter months) because 2 cycle oil will not prevent gelling or clean up deposits. Going on 5 yrs now, no issues.

And exactly what Mr. Page said... I use Power Service for same reasons stated.

I also use both here. I run the 2 stroke oil in almost every fill up. I then use power service about once a month.

I use the wallymart no ash instead of the low ash universal (read back of lable). I think the low ash isnt good for the truck. Truck seems a wee wee bit quieter and feels a wee wee bit more responsive. Nothing major, but after reading the study I figure it is better than most products available up here for lubricity. Dosnt do anything for gelling - I use amsoil diesel conditioner for that.

will it hurt anything if i mix power service (silver bottle) with the pre mix

That's the way I do it... I keep a mix in a quart container always at the ready in my truck (winter)...

Yup, run it in my '06 ..... pre-mix it, put it in the tank, and then fill it like I normally would.

My wife isn't a gearhead, and even she notices the sound difference when it's time to add more, which is what we've been using as the indicator to "treat" it again.

I have been adding TCW-3 at the rate of 2/3 oz per gal since '06. I did it to add lub to the ULSD. The CP3 tick is a little quiter.

I use it and have been using it for a very long time. My 2000 Cummins went
203,000 miles before I sold it and never changed a VP44. My rotary fuel pumps would go 85-90k before failing. It had the 3rd one in when I sold it.

I use 1/2oz/gal or 16oz/32gallons in the 06.

I read some where that the additives in the 2-cycle oil caused coking on the injector tips. Can't remember where I read it. Not even sure if its true or not.
In my outboards (I know they're old), the 2-cycle oil does not burn away totally and leave a nice powdery residue inside the engines exhaust ports its kind of moist. I wonder if thats the additives that remain and if that is taking place in the diesels. I know when I have used it, the soot on the bumper and the exhaust tip has felt a little oily. And that was at about the 8-10 oz per fill up. Not an expert here, just thinking out loud...

On the bottle is states that it is clean burning and helps to remove carbon. Of course that is a 50:1 mix for gasoline engines. The mix I am using is approx. 200:1.

I would not use it if I had a cat in the exhaust.
