Tappet cover vent instead.
Since i am rebuilding my 24v now. i was thinking about putting the 12v tappet cover on instead of the 24v so i can vent the case there and it makes less of a oily mess. I was going to then put the 12v oil fill cap where the vent was at on the timing cover.

I've read of some 12 valve guys installing a breather on top of the #1 valve cover but have no personal experience.
Apparently the valve cover and breather were used on Case tractor applications and parts are available though them.

search this site, some one did this years ago and has some great pics. The used drilled a hole in the cover and put a grommet in and a push in vent that was used on the old v-8s

The 12v cover will fit. It was actually a fix by dodge for the puke tube setup. They have a flat plasitc cover instead of the oild filler, since that is already in the valve cover. I'd run both breathers on the timing case and tappet cover. The more the merrier.
