looking to get a single exit 4" turbo back system with a 5" angle cut tip (similar to factory style cut/look) for my truck. A few questions:

(1) looking at Magnaflow, MBRP, or Silverline for the most part. Each has a kit for my application...any thoughts on whose better? From a quality, installation & fit, customer service, power/tq/fuel economy gains standpoint, or other? From what I heard the Magnaflow fits very well

(2) I also talked to Banks, who has a Monster Exhaust setup which has an option of including an elbow which goes from behind the turbo to the downpipe portion of the kit. Banks told me that most other turbo back kits on the market (like those mentioned above) have a 4" downpipe that adapts to the 3" factory elbow essentually mating upto the factory turbo elbow which is 3" and their kit can offer an advantage by using a replacement 4" elbow that mates up directly to the back of the turbo on the exhaust sied making their setup a "true" 4" setup from the actual turbo itself...advantages they said include lower EGT's and a bit more power and efficiency. Any thoughts on this setup?

(3) Each of the above include a T304 and a T409 option...both are Stainless steel but it seems like T304 is a higher quality and more expensive...any recommendations or thoughts on this? Would it be worth paying the extra money for a 304 vs. a 409 in terms of corrosion and/or longevity or any other factors that can make a difference?

(4) lastly...I've been told I have to upgrade my fuel system which I'm looking into getting a FASS to do. I've also looked into a Wallbro GFS 392 kit which is the kit Glacier has for my truck. Does the FASS come with the Big Line kit already? I've seen some folks run the Vulcan Big Line kit...what is that exactly & would that be helpful when running the Wallbro setup or the FASS setup?

My dad has an MBRP exhaust on his 7.3 psd and I have the 4" banks on my 01 cummins. I like both of them to be honest (although the cummins sounds better hands down). Whichever you choose will be a good system but Im willing to bet the Banks exhaust is more expensive.

As far as the fuel pumps. The fass kit is an all inclusive kit, it comes with the pump, filter, water seperator, and all the fittings and hoses to plumb the entire system. The Vulcan bigline kit is just what it says, its the fittings and fuel line to go onto a stock system to increase flow. It is unnecessary to buy the big line kit with the FASS system because the FASS already comes with it. I believe the walbro kit also has its own big line kit with it but I may be wrong. I just got my FASS 150/95 in yesterday and it looks top notch, cant wait to hook it up

ive personally installed mbrp and magnaflow and they fit up nicely. banks is normally realy expensive exhaust and it is not any better than the dealers you listed. if you get a fass pump make sure you fill out the warranty card in case it goes out. with an 01 you should get some type of fuel system because the factory lift pumps are junk

I would go with the mbrp or magnaflow, if you live somewhere where you don't need to worry about having to run the stainless system and get the aluminized-and apply what you're saving to a fass system..

304SS is much higher grade than 409. 409 will oxidize and turn a brownish color-- not that much better than aluminized, imo.

The Banks power elbow relieves a point of major constriction, imo-- the stock cast iron elbow. Even with a larger downpipe, the elbow is still restrictive. Cost/benefit is yours to decide.

Keep in mind that exhaust has a lot to do with shifting the "weakest link". You install a better muffler, and the 3.5" pipe is too small. You install a full 4" system, and the elbow is restrictive. You install a larger elbow with a full 4", and you still have the restrictive stock turbo.

The Cooleze MegaMouth elbows and pipe in the DTR store accomplish what the Banks elbow would do, and then some

The magnetic 400 series SS forms a sacrificial oxide to protect the substrate much as aluminum does, but 304 has nickel and chromium alloyed to keep it shiny (although blood or urine can stain it) - so it's more $$$ and higher quality.

All the SS we use at the shop is 304... unless it's 316

For those that don't know, 316 is the "medical grade" stainless-- that's what they make doctor's scalpel and dental tools and such from.

It is very corrosion resistant.

Not to mention pricey!

the cooleze elbow looks nice.probably only works on a stock turbo.

From what I can tell-- it's stock turbo only.

Kinda like a gold-plated pickle. It's still a pickle, right?

I contacted banks about their "power elbow". you can buy it seperatley, but it is 350 bucks!!

the stocker make's some good power for a street truck.it's just a little scary how the wastegate dump's into the elbow.it's like it flow's into a wall

I'm thinkin for a street driven truck for reliability and good mileage the stock turbo with the cooleeze elbow may be a good setup...the cooleeze is a couple of hundred compared to the banks with is like 350
