takes a few extra cranks to start when hot??
long start when hot
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New to me 03 CR 5.7L Cummins has arrived!!!! a little later than had hoped due to some business that got in the way...
but arrived and imported into Canada and runs awesome!!
the seller had done the following:
- 2 brand new Michellin tires installed
- new rear brakes
- complete inspection
- fluid flush and new fluids
- oil change and service
- filters etc...
- at my request a truck box in the back was installed... (will have to correct the drain though)
Some things I have noticed on driving the truck:
1) power steering made a couple of odd noises seems to work fine but steering to the right it groaned a little - is this an indication that the PS pump is on its way out? or something else? or is it typical?
2) on starting up the truck after the engine was already hot it took a few cranks a little longer than I expected to start up.... is this typical? or is this an indication of dirty injectors? starter speed? fuel pump??
once running the thing runs like a champ - the turbo spools up real nice - no 'blow by', tons of torque!!
3) the headlights need some buffing to clean them up - some Autosol should do the trick.
4) and a few touch ups to the paint to make it perfect
other than that shes tighter and cleaner than a nuns... well... you get the idea.
the clutch feels real nice and the transmission shifts like a breeze!!and the undercarriage looks as if the truck sat in an indoor show room.... gotta love that southern driving!
I will let the pics do the rest...
and where to from here?
cheers and thanks for everyones input!!
