tail gate lock

Need to add a tail gate lock. Who makes the best one?
Prefer opinions from folks that have actually done it.
Bench racing ain't my thing if you know what I mean.

Depends on what you want and how much ou want to spend. I bought a Bully lock that replaced the factory assembly. It was simple to install, looks OEM and works well, but could still be "defeated" by someone who really wanted to get in.

I have the Bully Tailgate lock and agree it is as good as a key lock is going to get. Simple install, inexpensive and does look factory.

I use the Pop-N-Lock. They were one of the first designed. I got it from Summit Racing. It's very simple. Took about 10 minutes to install. So far, it has worked fine. Havn't lost anything yet. Yet.

I purchased the pace edwards electronic lock that retains the factory handle. It hooks up to the factory power locks, adding the power tailgate lock. I regret to say that I haven't installed it yet. I paid about $80 at a local shop.

Power tailgate locks just great. As stated it hooks up to the power door locks, and takes about an hour to install. Thats because I took my time to ensure the cables was properly secured.

Checkout the Gate Keeper make by the guys that make the Jimmy Jammers. The tailgate locks are very ez to bust and take the tail gate, plus you have to actually lock it or it's pointless anyhow. The Gate Keeper makes it much more difficult. Thief’s would be required to have tools in their possession to get it.

I have the Pop'n'Lock PL3400. Han Solo says it's a piece of #$##. I know it looks factory, it does lock the tailgate. It still works after 4 years. Nobody has stolen the tailgate, course I don't know that anyone has tried.
For my money, I'm very happy. Han, why don't you say why you disaprove of it, instead of just saying it's crap! That doesn't help anyone!!
