Is there a after market link for the one that goes from the frame bracket to the sway bar. Mine are getting worn at the little ball joint that fastens to the sway bar. Started to make some if I could find the bushings and do away with the joint. They are not cheap at the dealer.

I made mine from a 96 dodge carivan, basically cut one in 1/2 and welded the truck end on one side and the Van end on the other, cost me 50$ to make 4 of them, best part is they are greaseable!!, I have an 01 and I believe they are mounted different on the older trucks although it should still work...somehow

Even greasable they will wear out in no time-0 they are available aftermarket (napa, online, etc) for under $30 a pair. The only replacements that don;t fail as fast are Maxxlinks or Carli suspension and another (tough country maybe>) have them with bushings/ heim joints.
Heard a LOT about Maxx links failing on other vehicles (in fairness, I heard nothing but rave reviews about their customer service in those cases, including overnighting a control arm to a customer as a replacement for the one that failed due to the MAxx link failure!!)... I'm a little suspicious to deal with that even tho they are far cheaper than the heim joint models.

I saw some on genosgarage but they are 149.50 a pair 94-02 with factory sway bar. They are maxx links. still to much.

I'd argue on how long they last, mine have at least 40,000miles on them, they are still tight, and even if they failed it only cost me 25$ for two.(I believe they were XRF brand) and that 40,000miles was done at 8-10hrs a day for the past yr,
I do run carli springs but thought the links were too expensive, so I made my own

I would suggest checking them again... that's about the average life limit IRRC.

Mine have been gone for years- planning on putting in something more suitable like the Carli (woot for SS on a plow truck) but the tough country/rugged country/whatever I saw for under $120 with double heims will likely win out based on cost. Not worth it to me to build them with the same technology as the factory ones since I know they are inadequate (especially on a plow truck), and a local parts store replacement needing to be changed again will just irritate me in a couple years when I have to do it again.
