Gotta take the rig in for an oil change next week. Should I swap the stock air box back on and take the AFE off for the trip? I would change oil myself, but we are fulltimers and we can't do that stuff in the RV park.

Just wondering how picky the dealers are. Thanks........

My vote is to change it yourself anyway, even in the RV park. It doesn't take long or make a mess. You will be done with it before the RV park realized you were doing it. I suggest using a large freezer bag to drop your oil filter into and seal it up. Just drain the oil into a 15 quart pan then take the pan to a local Auto Zone or someplace that will let you drain it. Get your new oil filter from a local big rig shop or Cummins or order it from Genos. Oil from Walmart.


If you still don't want to change it at the RV park, then get the stuff and just take it to a local oil change place or mechanic.

I don't see the need to take it to the dealer for an oil change only. And, even if you did I don't really think they would care if you have the AFE or not. Mine has been back to my dealer with it on and they were kinda impressed with it. IT AINT COMING OFF over routine maintenance....that's for sure.

I don't know why the dealer would care anyway.....my silicon levels are lower on my latest oil reports with the AFE over the stock air box. Good luck!
