Suspension lift with leveling kit

who here has done (or seen anyone do) this? The reason i'm asking is because i'm currently running a 6" BDS short arm kit, 20x10 wheels and 36x15.5R20 MTZs. I trimmed fender (some plastic and a little metal) and have no rubbing now.

I just ordered some new 20x12 rockstars with a 4.5" backspace. I'm worried about rubbing, so i'm going to put my old 2" leveling kit on to my BDS kit. Anyone do this and have any problems? i'm planning to upgrade to long arms in a couple of months, and i also am going to get BDS's transmission drop.

whitetrash66,
I have a 07 Mega Cab 6.7L with a 6" BDS Long Arm and 2" spacer up front, 5" Springs in the rear and 2" block, 37x13.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers mounted on 20" KMC Rockstars with 4.5" backspacing and bushwacker pocket flares.. All i had to trim was the plastic inner fender, i have no promblems with stacking the spacer, just make sure you play with the cam bolts on your arms figuring out what is putting your diff forward the most of course. Other then that i would recommend stainless breaklines!! Good luck with the add on let us know how it turns out.. I will try to get some pics of my truck up soon so you can see...

I just did a 6" superlift with a 2" leveling kit. Im running 37/13.50/22 Rockstars. What I did was eliminated the shock "tri-pod" bracket. I have the bilstien shocks and with the leveling kit it made the shock basically fully extended. I cut a round piece of steel and drilled the 3 holes plus the 1 hole for the shock itself, and threw away the shock mounting bracket. It gave me about 3" extra for the shock to travel. I can turn the steering wheel both directions and i dont rub. If i hit a bump with the wheel turned ALL THE WAY then it rubs just a little. I didnt trim anything! I can take pics if you need...

Well, i had the leveling kit installed on the truck today... besides needing an alignment, the truck seems fine (rides rougher... I'll be getting the long arms later). Is there anything i should watch for? i had the truck up to 60 mph on the highway, and i didn't feel any vibration... will the front driveshaft vibrate only when i'm in 4wd?

I was also second guessing the flares on mine but i didnt have my truck outa the shop for more then 45mins after my lift and tires and was pulled over by the popo. The poor lady was a little mad i think cuz she could barly even see me. it took about 2 mins for them to try and pick me right apart.. and threaten to write me 3 or 4 tickets.. So after alot of thinking i decided to put mine on and iam still outside by flares by more then a 1" 1/2 for sure, and if i get sick of them it only would take me 30mins to take all 4 off..
Post some pics of that ride of yours, sounds like a pretty slick rig..

i just got hme and its dark so i'll try and get a pic tomorrow. Its just the pic itself that looks like that. The axel is inline except for it sideways. I have to get a adjustable track arm. I can turn the wheel both directions all the way and i dont rub. I think if the axel was pulled back, it would rub. But, i'll try and get the pic tomorrow.....
