Suspension: Lift in back, none in front?

Neighbor was looking at my truck yesterday

He pointed out what he said was 3" lift in the back.
No lift in the front.
He figured the previous owner maybe was hauling pretty heavy
although there's no 5th wheel or gooseneck hook up in the bed

I haul less than 10K, and use the truck mostly for hauling.
I haven't notice problem hauling, but I didn't notice the
rear end lift, either...
Is this something I should correct?

Was he looking at the factory spacer block between the axle and the spring?

do you have the suplimental suspension pakage? GVRW or what ever the sticker in the door is about 8600 lb for the rear or somewhere in that ball park. if so then its just the spacers. my truck has that too. its esentialy a one ton, the weight is really close to my step-dads '94 F-350, except he has a little more capacity in the front end.

No lift, my 98 is the same way the front end is just 2" lower than the rear. Every other dodge 1 ton is that way in town 2wd or 4wd unless they put a leveling kit on the front of the truck.

Thanks, yes I think it just the factory spacers. Its heavy duty suspension so he just didn't know what he was looking at.

I've been considering leveling the truck by taking out 2" in the rear.

I think it's closer to 4"...but I wouldn't mind cutting that in half.

Barngal, do you have the rear sway bar? If so, you have the factory Camper package, stiffer springs and sway bar.

Both of my 97's have it as well as the 99 my buddy has.

They make front end leveling kits to accomplish that. The truck would ride really a$$ low if you remove that spacer.

Well, I have the biggest tires I'm ever planning on putting on the truck so I don't need the front lifted. There looks to be lots of room under the rear to allow for a 2" drop. I just have to come up with the enthusiasm to try it.
