susatined rpm

well my truck has 410 gears and on the highway they are a real bummer, but with my gsk my truck runs real well at higher rpm. my question is running it at 2500-2750 continousley will harm anything cuz with my 265 this is where it needs to be to stay up with traffic. Also will 285's on an 16X8 rim rub anywhere on the truck?

They should fit just fine.

These engines run all day long at 2500+ in Medium duty trucks, so you won't hurt anything but your Wallet!! Fuel mileage should be terrible!

if you do that much highway running

run the 315 tires.. for that you will need at least a 2 inch lift or a leveling kit though. I have seen 2wd rams with 285s and no problems.... 315s and 410s will bring ur RPMS down sweetly... however, at the cost of a little low end power, big tires take a little more to move than ur accustomed 265 tires

In August I moved from California to colorado and I had to keep my 5spd revved up past 2500 for most of the trip due to my 4.10's I drove for like 16 hours straight the first day and I had the same worries but I didn't have any problem except for mileage.

When I lost 5th gear I drove 1200 miles in 4th at 2500 rpm, about 60 mph, it was the best mileage I ever got with my 5 speed.
Speed makes more difference than rpm.
