Surging.

Hey Guys, I've noticed over the last couple days with the Edge Juice on any level, When I try to get on it hard, it Surges, pulls hard for 2 secs, backdowns and surges again. Its like the power is kicking on and off. It doesnt do it with the Edge Off. I've had a problem like this before, but **** if I can't remember what I did. I wanna say the screw for the VP44 Stealth Cover wasnt getting a good contact. No codes, or alerts from the edge.

Thoughts?
Rick

Bad MAP/Superboost sensor or the connections on the plugs at the sensor have become loose or coroded.

^^^^^ x2, map sensor.....
Mine is doing exactly what you just explained, finally threw a code the other day...map sensor-low voltage.

Called local napa...the guy said it wasn't available anymore?? Didn't believe him, but didn't feel like arguing with him.
Called local Cummins dealer....he wouldn't even look the part up, just said " nope, dealer only part"....didn't believe him either (should have looked the part # up on this forum before calling so he would've had to order me one)

I found this link on here and ordered one for a great price: http://http://hoeslidiesel.com/store/page5.html

What boost does it do the surging at? You running a stack programmer/box?

Its probably the air intake temp sensor. You could try to pull it out and clean it with carb cleaner. I thought about just putting in a constant restistor/toggle switch and get rid of that variable.

You must have some lazy a$$ parts stores. Cummins and NAPA both??? Wow.

It will surge around about 9-12lbs....doesn't seem to matter if the xzt+ is on or off. (no stack, just the quad box)
It even started to idle a little high once in a while- about 950-1000. Shut it off and restart, idles fine. I think I might pick up a IAT sensor too.
yeah, the local cummins dealer here doesn't really seem to want to help out dodge guys, just OTR trucks, very frustrating.
