I am in the process of setting up a WMO filter and having a heck of a time locating some of the parts I need.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread with links for filters, filter socks, and other expendables.

Mainly I would like to know where to pick up inline filters and the "caps" they screw into.

Good Site. I Need to get the plastic tanks or not sure about getting the apple seed kit. I also need to find the pumps.. Everything other than that I can get at the hardware store.

Fram supply stores. They all carry filters and the adapters they screw onto. Many farms have their own diesel tanks on site and they need the equipment like hoses, nozzles, etc.

If you don't mind visiting a Ford site, try the alternative fuels portion of the forums on thedieselstop.com site. These guys are really into the WMO issue. There is a lot of info, you can read for days and not cover it all. Most of the guys setups are low cost DIY. The popular resolve for the pump issue is to use a small block chevy oil pump (SBC) for moving the oil, this is what I use. The sbc pump will pump any weight including grease. Power it with Gas or electric. On this site you will find the details on how to set the pump up. I use an electric drill 1/2" 10 amp that I bought at HF for $32.00, this way I can have variable speed as well as reverse if needed. Also you will find the ratios for mixing (RUG) regular unleaded gas with your oil to produce the viscosity match to diesel.
Last week I picked up 10 55 gal. drums of WMO (real clean stuff) from a mint farmer and it burns great in my first gen.

I use cheep 1 micron RO (reverse osmosis) water filters. You can get them for under a buck each on ebay. The filter container is about $15. I use a small air operated diaphragm pump pushing into two of these filters in series. I regulate the air to the pump to about 10PSI to keep flow rate slow. The pumps can be found in old soda fountains.

I let a full drum of unfiltered oil pump through the filters to the other. I turn off the compressor and walk away. It will stop pumping about the same time the oil runs out of the dirty drum. Plastic 55 gal drums are cheep. I also will let the drum sit in the sun for a few weeks before filtering to check for water and let a few gal in the bottom of the drum go to a recycler.

You could gravity feed the filter if you build a stand for your dirty drums but it is more trouble.
