Well sunday after the dyno we went to Carson Lake(up by whitecourt) to do some trout fishing, and half hour we had our limit so we started to head back. 20 feet from our spot with 3.5 feet of ice this what happens. Was is amazing it that the front end made it over the spot but the back was not so luckey:(

Never had that happen to me in my life, hopefully never will again
1 hour and $170 we were back on the road with no damage accept a bent exhaust and the mud flap holders took the worst of it
Good lord, I bet the old ticker skipped a beat or two.

Glad that was a deep as you went....I sure hope you drained the rear diff as it had to take in water that deep ;)

**** luck you didn't loose the truck, did it bend the suspension on your 4 wheeler, the first one looks like the right front wheel is almost bent at a 45* angle.

Wow! I never would have thought you would fall through 3 1/2 feet of ice! I went ice fishing at Charlie Lake near FSJ and the ice was about that thick. Bottomed out my power auger just as I broke through the ice. Never caught a thing either. My 3 years old daughter was talking about ice fishing tonite at dinner. She was mad because she never caught anything and her hook wouldn't sink. She was determined to use a crankbait. LOL Anyways drain that diff like mentioned above, or at least check it for milkiness. The fish make it home safe and sound?

He said he left the thick ice, seen that before, the ice melts from the shore inwards. There is no way the ice where he broke thru was 3.5 ft thick....

I dont think id have the cahone's to even ride a 4 wheeler across ice let alone a 7,000 lb truck. Just never know how thick it is in different spots, nor how weak it is.
You are one lucky man!

That My man is a 5500, with a full rear deck...I would say he is treading ever so close too 10K.

I'm thinkin' that the fish got a pretty good chuckle out of that one! Same thing happened to a buddy of mine a few years back near Cadotte Lake. His front end went in so I bcked in to pull him out ... got half way to his truck and my front end went in[dummy] Not a whole lot of traffic up there on a Sunday morning! [duhhh]

I live in Whitecourt, I go to Carson to fish a fair bit. I would never take a truck out that late in the season. In fact I was there just before you and walked out.

not sure you get much ice there in Arizona....
Drivin on ice aint that bad...as long as you know where you are going & are confident the ice is thick enough. Though this late in the season, I can say I wouldn't drive out there in a 10k truck either...but the 4 wheeler-thats different.
