Suncoast Trans Broke

Hey guys,
Well as luck would have it on the way home last night my Sun-coast trans broke. I have a full billet Sun-coast and w/converter that's about 8 months old. I was towing my little trailer (empty) (2 axle bumper pull) at about 70 mph and it felt like the truck just went into neutral. Got off to the side of the road and she was dropping trans fluid all over the road. It wasn't slipping it just broke. I think the converter broke or the input shaft. I still have park so I know it's not the output. I can start the truck so it's not the flex plate.
I had it towed to the shop that built it so I guess I'll know more next week. Anybody have any Idea what kinda warranty Suncoast has - if any? Anybody else have this happen to a Suncoast and how was it handled by them? By the way I'm not complaining about Suncoast this trans has worked perfect up to this point but lets face it anything can fail. i just would like to know how they handle it. Are they as good as Dave?
Thanks guys
Topper

My last truck had Suncoast in it and they did very well in dealing with the problem. Sounds like we had the same problem broken front shaft.

man this scares me about getting a built tranny. I mean i am seeing guys with not a whole lot done just driving around normal and their trannys breaking. I would think if someone spent 6-8k on a tranny it should last thru a hell of a lot of beatings and last longer than 8 months. This isn't brand bashing just talking about built trannys in general. I am tempted just to keep my stock slipping one lol

Hey guys,
06,
I haven't been to the track and haven't hooked to a sled now with that being said I have used the truck like a truck. I tow alot and haul alot and the truck makes good power. But lets face it this trans should be able to take the power my that the truck is making. When I bought this truck I set a side $10,000 for the trans so I thought that I would be set. This really has me hot but what can I do. I just need to get the truck back on the road so hopefully Suncoast will come trough for me. I have been setting money aside for the trans in my wife's truck so if Suncoast come through for me I'll be ordering another for her 05 I love the way the trans shifts and works over all but if not I'll be calling Dave he gives a 3yr unlimited mile warranty.
Thanks for the input guys,
Topper

Thumbs up Suncoast converters & trans

Have not been able to destroy my Suncoast, and God knows I have tried hard! I bought mine from Suncoast direct and had it shipped from Florida, to California and had Suncoasts reps install it, thats the only way to go!

Yeah Topper i hope everything works out for ya. I am going to go with a Goerand since i can get a better deal thru a friend, and i know he has the longer warranty i am just still worried lol. I mean my wife will literally kill me if i spend that much on a tranny and it breaks at all for the life of it. I am in enough deep water with my 9600 dollar mustang engine spinning a rod bearing after 3 years lol.

On mine it was a batch of bad cryo front shafts. In stead of back to Fl. They sent me to a shop in Colombia SC where they were waiting for me. This was a non sled pulling truck no hot rodding, just a 40' 3 axle car hauler. I also broke the rear end as well on the truck. Wish I never sold it.

Hey guys,
Well we found out that the torque converter broke and took out the front of the trans. Hopefully Suncoast will do the right thing and warranty it. I doubt they will warranty the input shaft and pump but will see.

It says on the warranty paper that comes with the trans that they wont cover billet shafts, but they do cover labor and everything the shaft takes out

I thought the billet shafts had their own warranty, depending on who's it was I quess. After tinkering with these CR trucks a little, I would never put anything but Opie's shafts in. They just make too much torque threw out the power band.
