Thanks for posting.... If you or anyone reading this knows a "friend" that has a striaght pipe on a 6.7 could we see some pictures.. I have spoke to several people on the forums that have had 'people' that have done it but I have never seen one picture of the real deal. :) I would think it might be a retrofit straight pipe from an aftermarket Co. that is made to fit the 6.7... I keep hearing from people that it has been done but when it come to 'pushing' for some pictures that forum member drops out of the conversation during that post[laugh]

Hell, Id just like to see it FOR REAL ! [laugh]

It made no difference in sound. Not worth keeping it off, just gives DC one more reason to void the warranty. The factory muffler is a straight through design.

i would be very curious to see how the truck actually runs, i realize people say they left all the sensors in but it seems to me that it would throw a code. 1 reason being these trucks are made to regen and if after X amount of miles/hours/days it never sees regen it might throw a code to make you take it to the dealer to have it checked out.

Plus as mentioned, your $50K truck just lost it's warranty and with a new style motor not sure i would want to risk that...

Good luck!

If it's like the 5.9, it should technically only void the warranty on the exhaust, not the entire truck. Maybe the ECM as well, but I really don't see how doing this could void your engine warranty.

well your messing with the emissions so it would void that as well. I dont' know i've heard crazy thigns on here about warranty. One guy on here put a turbo timer on his truck, you know to keep the truck running to cool the turbo down before shutting off the truck. Anyway, according to him his dealer voided his warranty for it. I guess you just never know.

We are not talking about just the muffler just taking the muffler off is not a straight pipe.

I wish someone would take some pictures or video. At this point I think either would be a hotter item then pics or video of Bigfoot.

If we found one person that had it really done (pictures) im SURE they want to let us hear what it sounds like...... Its a new motor for the most part and allthough I would like it to sound like a 5.9 im sure it wont. SO, when it is straight is going to be ~ it is what it is ~ [laugh]

I agree with you, as of this time with out a 'propper' new computer to 'fool' the sensors it would probably have trouble... As far as the warranty, anyone that 'messes' with the 6.7 factory exhaust HAS to know they are throwing most of the warranty out the door... Im not going to knock anyone that wants to do what they want to do with there money but to each its own,,, good or bad... :):)

Hell, today Im going to say im never going to mess with the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX but in two years when 100 dudes have braged about how cool doing XXXXXX or/and XXXXX I might be do'ing it !!! [laugh]
