Stocker/S400 Twin Questions

Can someone school me on these stocker/s400 twin setups? I am hoping to upgrade to this setup in the spring and know nothing about twins For example does the stock turbo (and or S400) require an external wastegate and if so how much do they cost, and were can I get one? I'm looking to be in the 650hp range and do very little towing, and I don't race or sled pull. Someone suggested an S400 75/96/1.32. Does this sound like a nice setup?

Sorry for being so clueless but I initially thought that I could buy a 2/3rds kit from someone then slap my stock turbo on there and be done with it. However after doing some reading it doesen't sound like that is the case. Thanks for any help!!

Yes, you can do that. Get ahold of Nathan at MPI. He can fix you up. No, you do not need an external gate.

Thanks for the help man.

Can anyone elaborate on the choice of a 75/96/1.32 in a twin setup?

THat is a common one, although the 1.32 A/R is a little on the big side...

If you go through MPI or wicked (or any of the other builders of the kit) they already have it dialed and will source the turbo accordingly. You don't have to spec it out unless you have an unusal or special circumstance.

Thanks man, I guess I'll have to call one of these guys and talk. I just hate calling and wasting someones time when I know that it will be months before I can save enough money to buy.

I am glad to hear that an external wastegate isn't necessary though becuase with the added cost of that I might as well go with an s300/s400 setup.

The S400 you described is the standard S400 in the stocker/S400 kits. It works well. All the data is there. The setup works.

WoW. I was guessing 550 or so. This is something to keep in mind after I get my tranny done.

Does the stocker need to touched or re-freshened up at all? I 've got a HE351 w/ 140k miles on it that I would like to run in place of my HE341 for a while until I go twins.

Nothin wrong will calling and asking questions even if your not ready to buy. If a place really wants your business they will take their time and talk to you. I have called and talked to numerous places about turbos and twin setups. Thats how you learn.
