If you run a 1/2" spacer? I'm going to be putting some 265s on and just want to be sure they won't rub but I also want to make sure the studs are not going to need to be replaced. I may go with 1/4" if 1/2" will be a problem....

I think you will be ok, just pull off your center caps and see how much thread you have left. I know 1/4" spacers will fit no problem.

This is 265's with a 1/4" spacer.I tried running 1/2" and the threads did not come past the top of the lugnuts.

I am running 265's right now without any rubbing issues.

Thanks men. I found a company on e-bay that sells 5/16" spacers. I may go that route just for the heck of it....
It does look like there's plenty of space between those tires....

You'll be alright with 265's without a spacer. Toyo MT's are prob one of the most aggresive tires on the market for mudders right now and 265's will fit on a dually without spacers no problem. 285's ya you'll have problems.

I ran 285's with 1/4 inch spacers and they fit good, the nuts were flush with the end of the threads, so not totally ideal, but they are hub centric so I wasn't that worried. I actually bought the 1/2 inch spacers and couldn't use them, and there are no longer studs available either.

Did you tow heavy? If so what was your pin weight like? I tow a 40' 5er and between pin weight/firewood/misc. stuff it's over 4k pounds, would I be ok you think? They would be an E rated 285 toyo????

Just look at the pic posted earlier of my 265's.No way a 285 is going to be that much space.I think a minimum of a 1" spacer will be required for all the people wanting to tow with a 285.

Homewrecker, I thought that was my picture at first....a 1/4" looks better than mine. The Coopers in the pix are the widest 265's I've seen and I have them with no spacer and they don't touch even when loaded to the max and then some but you need full air if you are hauling heavy...duhhh!ks

I run my rears at about 60lbs,helps with the ride quality and I don't tow heavy enough to cause any sidewall sag.

whats up guys ,,,if you were towing heavy ,,would the space between the tires be enough gap,,,,i pull about 30k daily ,,and i wanted to get 265's

Ive got a friend with 265's with no spacers and he hauls heavy..Just air them up good

Here's how I see it after all the replies. They will fit with no spacers but you have to keep them aired up when towing. If I forget to air them up then I may have a problem if I tow heavy. 5/16" Spacers are about $25.00 for a pair. I think I'll get the spacers because I know I will forget to air them up.....
