Stock down pipe size on a 01
i have a 01 dodge 2500 ctd and i was wondering what size the stock downpipe tube was. and also what size the outlet of the muffler was. thanks

Well as for the 2002 it a 3" into the resinator and 3" out of the muffler but between the two it's 4"...
I used a piece of 3" inch pipe at 64" long to striaght pipe.

All 2nd gens have a 3" down pipe.....I have been told some odd ball 01.5's and 02's have a 3.5" outlet muffler but I have never actually seen one for myself to clarify that - all the outlets I have seen are 3". As Mopar mentioned, the inlet size on the muffler is 4".

well i got the stock off tonight and i need to get a different reducer i bought the 4 to 3.5 on accident need to go get the 4to3 if they make one. besides that it is a striaght shot on pipe.

I curious about how you going to run the pipe if it a straight shot!? In the pic above the last clamp at the bottom of the pic is where my pipe curves up to clear the rear axle. Are you think of dumping in front of the tires? Still if you plan on going all the way back then you need to bend the pipe to clear the axle...

i ended up using 6ft of pipe removed the cat and the muffler and hooked up to stock pipe with 4 to 3 reducers. sounds great and pulling down 19.1 miles to gallon with the chip on 3rd setting out of 5
