blue smoke is oil white smokes is from timing issue or radiator fluid and i'm sure you know what the black smoke is. Try Cleaning/replaceing your Intake Air Temp Sensor and your Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor and reset your APPS

I suspect a set of injectors are in the works for you. Have codes read and make sure lift pump is producing adequate pressure. VP44 is at high risk with bad lift pump. Read my other posts for injector story.

thanks for the help guys. temp sensor was cleaned but can't tell if it helped or not. also can't find my map sensor. they must hide it well or i just can't see it. injectors........ could be a blessing in disguise. lift pump was replaced 3 months ago and still sounds good. i suspect my ip. also this is wierd. at interstate speed i can maintain 70mph just find but try to maintain 80mph it will suddenly lose power and fall back to 65mph. then if i lift throttle for a second or two full power resumes as long as i don't get on it hard. in the mornings it opperates at half power at best for a while then suddenly full power!? i'm so confused but i live this truck so i won't give up yet. must be hard headed

sounds like the VP is already done in, signs of dead pedal and 1/2 power till warmed up,and if thats the orginal VP I think you more than doubled the life expectancy of the average VP.
again have the codes pulled.
also a LP might sound like its working and definately fail in 3 months,(esp a stock LP) unless you have a gauge your only guessing as to if it works or not.

well got the codes pulled and got the death codes. guess the mods will have to wait. deffinetly need fuel pressure gauge for lp though. good idea. tell me guys are industrial injection's and bd performance pumps worth the extra price? the plans i have for my truck are as follows. fire rings or beefed up head gasket, quadzilla xtz and smarty revo, 110 or 150 injectors, upgraded single to become twins in the feture, bhaf, 4" exhaust with 6" stacks with hush power muffler or good resonator( to kill drone ), upgraded intercooler and zz custom fabrication intake manifold, all tranny work and controllers to be done by suncoast. could all be a pipe dream but thats what i'm shootin for

I'd go with the FASS 150 gph pump. Even more so now with their new warranty.

Randy.
