Ive checked all the vacume lines and I cant seem to find any leak . Does anyone know anything else to check. Is there any way to check to see if there is a small hole in the lines. Maby Im not checking the right lines? Do you have to remove the drivers side battery to check the lines under it or can you keep it in (I checked with it in) Sorry for all the ? but it sucks not having cruise. Thanks for any help.

The cruise control servo went out on mine and it wouldn't hold speed. It'd catch and then instantly release. The light went on and off normally.

Does your "cruise" light light up immediately when you press the button or does it take some pushes of the button or a long push to come on?
If it takes it's time I've seen that either the electrical part in/to the steering wheel (clockspring, buttons etc) is defective or more often the cruise control module under the battery- if you can access a code scanner look out for a code for cruise control solenoid malfunction.
As long as you have normal function of the vent system you have vacuum, you could also check for vacuum with the engine running on the cruise control module.

The cruise light comes on just as it would if it were working correctly. All vents work correctly. Is the cruise control module under the drivers side battery.

Double check the vacuum line that goes to the servo in front of the driver side battery. On my 99 the a/c also worked fine and even if the vacuum line looks good it might be deteriorated just enough to not hold enough vacuum for the cruise servo. I replaced a small piece on my truck and the cruise started working again.

I think mine might be going out too. I can feel it try to work, then the speed just slips. Was it the servo? Did you repalce yours?
Any other suggestions?

I had to replace the servo under the battery. It was cheep $35 or so. I had my scanner on it, that told me some Solenoid shorted. It would be going down the road and shut off on me. I woul never hold speed like the new one does

Did you see any damage by battery acid? I had a real mess on my hands. Not alot of damage, just the plastic around the loom of wires on the fender. Seems to me DC could do better than that. Pretty lame set up.
