Exclamation Still Having Problems with my 06

Hey guys,
Some of you guys have read my previous posts about my truck having issues with dying on me. (Problem with 06 almost took my life!!!)
Well, I wrote a letter to DC, giving them one more chance to repair my vehicle. The repesentative from my area contacted me and set it up to bring it in (yesterday).
My dealer called me yesterday afternoon and told me that it was the security module messing up again, and that he contacted DC and they asked him if there is any aftermarket accessories on the truck. My dealer told him that the stereo was aftermarket, which it is (Kenwood 6019 double din touch screen). DC told my dealer that the stereo was the reason of the module going out, and all the aftermarket audio system needed to be removed before putting in another module, and that should fix it.
Right.......
The stereo has no effect on the module at all. I put this in at best buy (which I worked for) and I am a MECP certified installer of car audio. I have put many aftermarket stereos in these trucks with no problem whatsoever. I am not even using the Can-Bus in the harness (Im using the left cig lighter power like your supposed to do).
Well, I went ahead and went with what they said to minimize frustration, and I went to the dealership and took the stuff out myself. I wasted money there because even with me working at best buy, I still had to pay a discounted install when we put it in.
The dealer replaced the module as of this morning, and made 2 new keys for it. He said its running great, and that he is going to drive it today and make sure its fixed. He said that DC told him that I will have to pay for 3 hours of labor @ 75.00 per hour if the truck does not die on them during the test drive today , but the dealer informed me that if it dies after I get it back with no stereo in it still, they would pay me back that money.
That kinda sux, but if it fixes it, great. But if it dont, bye bye truck and hello to new truck and my labor money back.
I just know its not the stereo.

You are right and they are wrong. There's no way your install caused the SKIM to fail. It was a defective module. Take them to small claims court (Daimler Chrysler that is). Good chance the judge has or knows someone who has had this type of trouble with a dc product. Your testimony and expertise along with win the case.

Sounds like DC is pulling causes out of thin air. They are so idiotic when it comes to aftermarket accessories. They need to start using their heads and not their rears.

That sucks man. I can just imagine having a similar problem with an aftermarket alarm system installed...they would definitely blame it on the alarm.

well, I got the truck back today. They said that its now fine, but to leave the stereo out for a while until we know for sure it fixed it. Im betting its not fixed. Just teporary like before, but if it dies again, it will show them up on their diagnosis, and the truck will be lemoned out, or they will be taken to court. My attourny already knows about this situation.

I've heard that if you use aftermarket windshield wiper fluid that it will completely destroy your rear diff. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Boy looks like DC and Ford are starting think alike. That's not good...

BTW I started using different trash can bags that is why my pool is leaking now!

What's next...."You didn't use Mopar branded oil....Warranty void!" This is getting to be a joke! I have a vendor in my line of work that will have you check everything but their equipment before they will warranty anything. Drives me nuts!!

That's for sure!

I'm waiting for the warranty period to end on the '05 so I can put some aftermarket air in the tires....

Wait a minute folks. I have seen some stupid stuff cause electrical issues in a vehicle. It is possible for this to happen. So before everyone gets on the roll about DC this DC that leave the radio out and see what happens. I am just saying it is possible, not likely but possible. I have worked at a stereo shop also along with many other things and have seen a fuse being used for a stereo that would make the car keep running with the key off. Just my .02.

I don't think anyone disputes that it MAY be a problem. We're just getting tired of being given the run around every time our trucks go in for warranty work! I've been doing aircraft electronics for 24 years, and have seen some pretty wierd stuff. But todays car electronics, especially the higher end equipment, have some pretty good shielding for RFI & EMI interference, and I doubt that his stereo is causing the truck to shut down. Just my opinion

That's true - I went ahead and disassembled my Quad Race harness so I could EMI shield the whole thing properly and stuffed it back into the flex conduit... just to make sure!

Ok guys...Guess what?????
The truck died on me yesterday evening. When I picked up the truck, we went to get a bite to eat and headed home. I had to run to the store for a minute, and when I left there, It died on me while heading back home. No radio in the truck at all! I sat there for a while trying to restart it. I also called and left a voicemail to the DC rep while trying to start it so he knows that it wasnt fixed.
Finally, after letting it sit for about 20 minutes with the key off, it started and I went home and parked it.
I am not at all upset with my dealer. They are really nice guys, but I think that this problem just might be too hard to figure out. DC would only give them advice over the phone (thats sorry) when they have a tech guy a little over an hour away.
I guess this is it for my truck. I told the rep that they didnt fix it on the last chance try, so I want a replacement truck (by Arkansas lemon law). I really love my truck, but Im not going to have it if its going to continue to give me problems.
I think Im going to also go to a 6spd automatic with the new 6.7 and pay the difference in the two. I really like that motor, and the 5.9 (which is a nice motor) is a thing of yesterday.
Ill keep you guys informed.

Are you going to pull all the aftermarket goodies off the truck?

so whats going on? any updates?

sorry to hear about all your troubles......its a shame that a company cant stand behind there product and replace something that is defective without trying to blame it on someone else's product. true there are cases that occur were aftermarket products harm the truck, but in many cases it just a simple defect in the original equipment.

oh btw, I love the aftermarket air in the tires comment!

Im supposed to get a call tomorrow from the DC Rep. I told him today that they already had enough chances to fix it. He said he will have to get some info from the dealer and he will call me tomorrow.
I told him that we need to go ahead and start the replacement process.
