Stereo suggestions, JL Sub questons, what box?

Hey Guys.

I have a JVC deck I bought some time ago and need to finally get going on the install. Had a kenwood DVD indash, but it failed and I got my money back for it. The JVC I have now is this:

http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?mo...hId=133&page=1

I need new door speakers and would like to power the fronts from an amp, and rears from this deck. Any recommendations on speakers?

I would like to run a JL 10" W6 or even W7 sub. I would like to keep my rear cargo space if possible, so am thinking about a middle seat box deal. I read about Hot Box from Ebay but I can not find his product. What about this one:
http://www.supercrewsound.com/commer...d=147&catId=53

I would consider a single 10" box in the back, but, need to find out what the W6 or 7 sub requires for sealed space and if the box would be big enough. Any suggestions?

Finally is there a good single amp that would power a sub like this plus front speakers? OR, do I have to go with dual amps.

Last but not least, WHERE do I mount the amp(s)???

Truck is 2005 and I really would like to keep the rear seat cargo space as I need it dearly.

Thanks,

Igor

I have the same head unit.
I put Alpine type R 6x9 in the front doors, and 5 1/4 in the back doors. Ignored the 3 1/2s in the dash. I hooked up a TMA amp(made by jl audio) 320x4 to power all the door speakers. It's mounted behind the roll down bed under the driver side rear passenger. Just barely fit. Real clean. I haven't installed any bass yet, but I've considered the JL stealthbox. It will only fit a w3v4 at best. Anything bigger and the magnet structure is too big to fit in the hole. There is also the MTX thunderform which fits a couple 10"s. Again, not real deep. Both boxes fit in the storage area though, which you don't like. However, they're both removable.

The alpines with the TMA amp sound great. Obviously not alot of bass but the highs are real crisp and clear. The mids are real firm.

I don't know if this is a common problem, but my JVC head unit has a problem. The display will randomly shut off sometimes. The music keeps going but the display shuts off. I have to press the power button and it comes right back up. I think I'm going to RMA it to JVC.

Thanks for the info! Any pics of amp install?

Could it be a setting with the JVC to power down when not used?
I had a deck like that, forget the brand. Would keep working but go blank to keep the interior light down for night driving

P.S.

I have Focal components in the front doors/dash and Focal 5 1/4" in the rear doors powered with JL Audio Amps and 2 12w3's behind the seat. BOOOOOM!

To get a 12w6 or 7 you'll need some space. Try checking out the console replacement set up from JL Audio. You'll lose the console, but get the w6/7.

the JL consol setup looks good but looks like it comes with a 13w3...not sure if I want a 13" sub or a w3. Dont know much about subs. Ever hear this setup?

Its either this or try to go with this setup and w6. Dont think w7 will fit into much of anything out there....

Your sub box should work good. I have a 2nd gen. It has boston accustics componets pro series. For a sub. my original was a jl stealth box. The box is great and is powered by a jl 500/1. My amp has been through 4 subs now. The longest lasting 4 years which was an old eclipse aluminum. The new ones cannot hold the power. It only blew from turning up the gains too much. The problem with these boxes is mounting depth. The eclipse that lasted that long is still made by the original company and sold by them now. The price is great and the one I have now is about 1.5 years old. Heres the link for them. http://www.audiopulse.com/products/s...r-drivers/epic These are built great and will fit in the box your refering too. The best part is it actually acts as a massage and it wont kill your ears. Mine was 128db with my system. it is 500/1 and 2 300/2 jl amps. You may want 2 amps. I would try a 500/1 and a 450/4. Just my .02 . I mounted my amps behind the rear seat on a piece of mdf. The seat doesnt go all the way up but its out of site.

as big as something like a kicker zx1500.1 will fit under your drivers seat for a possible amp location. me i built a basic box with 2 kicker cvx subs in it and a zx1500.1 amp mounted to the box and just sit it in the back. 2 wires and i can take the whole thing out for full cargo space.

just my .02

Naw. Mine is a problem.
The control area goes black when your finger is not near it. It has a proximity sensor. I mean the entire display goes out. And it's not on a timer. It will do it sometimes 1 minute after starting the truck. Sometimes after 30. Sometimes 3 times in a row, then won't do it again for days.

I put (2) 6.5" Infinity perfect component sets in, powered by an infinity amp under the driver's seat.

I got the hotbox enclosure off ebay, and stuffed it with a JL 12w6. He had to make the box about 2" taller than normal to accomodate this sub.

The crossovers, JL audio cleansweep, and sub amp are along the back wall, under the rear seat. I still have full use of the fold-out flat floor too!

A kenwood equalizer and DSP unit is used for better imaging, control, etc.

^^^^ AWESOME ^^^

I'm also getting the Hot Box once I have the $$$. I already got my JL 10w6 off cragslist for $175 and my JL 500/1 for $250 all lined up for it.

I cant wait.
