For those who added an after market amplifier, where did you you mount the amplifier? Also, how did you mount it? I am thinking about jp welding some screws on the back of the cab to act as studs, as I don't want to put holes between the cab and the bed What did you guys do?

under passenger's seat, took out seat for room to work, screwed it down, re install seat, no way to get it out of there without removing seat fisrt,

You'd have to have a dang thin amp if you want to mount it on the back wall of a 2nd gen quad cab!
Or you can mount it under the center seat?

mounted the big amp under the left side rear seat and the smaller amp under the driver seat. i always mount my amps to plywood then to the floor. less chance for a grounding issue later on.

Here's what I did

I used a piece of 1/4 inch ply covered in carpet. There are ribs of sheet metal on the back wall that you can carefully screw into and not thru the wall

Normally you would be right but...
I use mostly 8ohm speakers so current draw is very low from all those amps.

I'm gonna go check out a way to mount mine...the only thing I don't like about JL Amps is that if you mount them vertically, you can't get to the controls!

True but they would look nice mounted horizontally in a row or 2
I would love to switch to JL Slash amps so I could drop to a 4 amp system.
A 300/4 bridged for my mids and another for the sub basses, a 300/2 for the tweets and a 1000/1 for the sub. For me I only need to set the gain from the amp controls so once that's set I never need to revisit the control panel but every install requires a different thing. Since the JLs put out their rated power up to 8ohms when bridged they would suit my application better than my old PPIs.
