go buy a dodge ram book from autozone, i think there made by haynes? w/e its a very helpful step-by-step book with alot of pictures and alot of instructions on what to do and what not to do.

Forrest's instructions are right on.
If you want to make it much easier replace the pump hold down bolts with studs and nuts. You won't have to fight the spring getting a bolt started then.
Sometimes on very worn out pumps the actuator arm falls off when you remove the pump. Make sure it doesn't fall in the engine or your simple job will get very complicated.

Even harder if the cam lobe is pointed at the pump. Bumping the engine so the cam is aimed away from the pump makes it easier but nowhere as easy as switching to studs.

Matt, I've never concerned myself with the size, just took the pump bolt into the autoparts and asked for a stud with the same threads.
I could guess and say it's 3/8" course just by eyeballing, but then again it might be metric...
Hacksaw a slot into the stud end so you can use a screwdriver to tighten it down.

what about using 2 nuts together to tighten down the studs?
and what pump should I get?
are wahlbro pumps only for 24v's?
I want to get one and not have to worry about it again.
