Steering Wheel Bolt ??

Question Steering Wheel Bolt ??

I will be installing the radio controls in the steering wheel on my truck and I noticed that if you take off the steering wheel that one is not to reuse the old steering wheel bolt and that a new bolt must be used.

I don't understand the rationale for that requirement, anyone have any ideas as to why this is necessary?

I've done or assisted in many of the radio control installs and have never had a problem.
