I have a 2005 with 86,000 miles in the last 2,000 miles I have replaced the upper & lower ball joints, both front axle joints and replaced the steering with the new design (pitman arm, tie rod, tie rod ends and steering stabilizer). The track bar bushings seem tight and I have a steering box brace.
The steering seems tight but the truck wants to wander and dart. I also have a clunking noise that sounds like it's coming from the right front at low speed (5-10 mph) which I feel is where the wander is coming from, but unable to locate. I rechecked the steering for tightness and front hub bearings no slop.
Please help!!!

I see your truck is leveled but no mention of a longer track bar?

My best guess is your tires. The track bar should be changed but it sounds like tire problems to me.

The track bar is stock. The leveling kit has been on since new. The tires have 30,000 miles on them and look great with no sign of abnormal wear. this has all started since spring. I changed back to my stock wheels but still have the same issues.

Just sounds like weak side walls on the rubber to me?

I would try to borrow a set and give them a shot.

I would also look at the track bar and the mounting holes on the drivers side to make sure they are not worn.

Both set's of tires are "E" rated tires. I will look at the track bar again tomorrow but everything looked good.

I had just about every steering problem you can have, I had 2001 that I invested 3600.00 in the front end alone and just when I thought I had it all figured out, I was informed that tire width means alot. I imagine those tires you have are = to 12.50" get a dual steering stabilizer kit, that's what did the trick after all else had been replaced.

What kind of shocks do you have?

The 325's are 13.50" wide, however the truck drives the same with the stock 245's installed. The low speed clunk is still there when I hit a bump also. The dual stabilizer should not be needed if everything is correct.

Saw in another post another guy had moog lower joints replaced with OE and the problem was corrected. The truck goes in to the dealer on tuesday if I don't get this issue resolved before.

Just replaced all 4 ball joints, longer links, 3" spacers, axle u-joints, shocks, rims, tires and dual stabilizer. I am running 35" Hankook MT's on Hummer rims, hence the dual stabilizers (tires alone are 79 lbs!) everthing else stock. So far, it rides better than stock as I had some clunking coming from the front end from day one (brand new) The jury is out on weather it was the front axle joints (they looked fine but I wanted greasable units) or the shocks, however the passenger side shock was weaker than the drivers side. I must say the Bilstien 5100's made a big difference in the ride.
Still have to do the back with Bilstiens and 1" blocks.
