steering

my truck has been drifting very bad just in the past couple of days that i have noticed and i can hear a bang every once in a while while driving.it feels unsafe to be driving it and when i rotate the shaft with the truck on the box will move a little when i rotate the shaft. it also rattles bad from the steering area over bumps and i have already replaced the shaft to borgeson and a skyjacker adjustable drag link.the only other culprit i can think of is the box because my tie rod seems fine.any ideas guys?any other common symptoms that scream anything specific?i dont have a clue...thanks in advance

Hmm, similar to my truck... I get a small clunk if I am doing a slow turn over a bump, but my truck does not wonder. My box flexes and moves, but its because: the original bracket is flexy, and... I have a crack in my frame (give yours a strong once over) . If the tie rod checks out, jack her up and grab hold of the drag link, it should not have any slop in it...a lot of wondering can be caused by it. With that lift and tire setup it may very well be a worn box, I understand there is some adjustment one can do, but dont get carried away with it cause the internals will wear faster.

Like Mike said, broken bracket and/or frame. I suggest you stop driving it until it's fixed, guys who ignored the warning signs have had the box fall off.

Like they said look real close at frame and bracket. Also did you check the king pins. I have also seen where the spring hanger bolts get wallered out and they move back and forth alot.

Switch over to crossover steering you wont regret it trust me .you get rid of the stupid bracket that bolts the box to frame and get alot more turning radius out of your truck .
