I have changed all of my front steering to T style steering dt-profab trac bar now on to the steering shaft. how much play should this have when parked if I grab and twist seems I can move it about 1/2 either direction. seems my truck over the last 1/2 year of driving for awhile, now seems the steering wheel will re-clock it self slightly to the right when going down the road. alignment has been done. I know who to correct it by adjusting the upper sleeve. just wondering if this is a cause of the steering shaft or something else. also if I do replace the steering shaft is the money worth it for a borgenson shaft or any other choices for shafts.

It sounds like that could be the problem if you have everything else tight and upgraded. Especially if you have slop in it.

When money permits I'm gonna replace mine with the Borgenson unit and my total front end rebuild will be complete.

You can move it 1/2 what? Half inch on the steering wheel, or you can grab that shaft and move it half an inch? The intermediate shaft has to have a small amount of slack as it collapses on itself in braking and turns, but any more than what is required for the top part to slide inside the bottom part isn't supposed to be there.

no not the steering wheel. the steering shaft I grab the middle section of it and it will twist 1/2 either direction.

That's loose. It should be firm perpendicular to its lenght but have some flex along its length. It shouldn't have any twist movement.
