I need some help. My drivers side steering knuckle on my dana 60 front snaped in two. it broke right where the tierod connects to it. it would be possible to weld it back together but i really dont trust welding cast steel. Does anyone know where i can locate a new one. I've tried junkyards and parts stores all over the midwest.

I think chevy and dodge knuckles are the same, but not sure.

Might also call a dana spicer dealer directly. They can get some things the parts stores cant.

Did the steering arm just break off or did the whole knuckle break?

it broke right where the tierod connets splitting the hole for the tierod end in two. otherwise its still in great shape.

Forget fixing it then. Just get some high steer arms and go with crossover steering.

With 8" of lift you will not have any troubles making it fit I don't think.

This is what you need, pretty sure that the chevy is the same as the dodge. The ford is different though. 5 studs for the spindle instead of 6 I believe is the difference.

im still in high school. there is no way i could afford to go to a high steer kit and there would be just about as much money in that as in my truck. i was thinking more along the lines of used parts.

well, D60 parts aren't cheap.
Those new ones above will run you close to $300 shipped being a stronger aftermarket design.
Chevy used this axle in K30s from around 77 till the late 80s. The knuckle is the same on a DRW and SRW as well.

You can keep looking for parts and maybe you will get lucky and find one cheaper. People don't like splitting the parts up as these axles complete are worth in the 1000-1500 dollar range used.

car-part . com has 2 pages of used steering knuckles listed. I'm having issues with my left steering knuckle too. My brake caliper arms are spread and the pin slides out making the caliper flop around alot. The chevy knuckle is different from the dodge only in the height of the tie rod hook up

I'd check with offroaddesign.com. They make and install crossover and high steer set ups . Even if you don't want to spend the cash on full crossover they probably have a used steering arm hey would part with.

Also, The prices listed or often starting prices. Most of the wrecking yards in my area pay commission and the counter/phone guys have leeway on price.
