Steering fixes?

My 2001 has 150k miles on it the front end is all stock I have had 305 on 10 inch rims for about 75k miles the steering is kinda loose and wanders what is the best way to get the steering nice and tight ball joints trackbar or what help me out guys thanks

Look on dodgeram.org.....there is a procedure on there for adjusting the bearing pre-load. That will help a little. You might want to look into a DSS as well.

Next time you have it aligned, have them put some more caster in the front, 3-3.5* is optimum. This will help the front track straighter and help the wheels return to center after a turn.

Check your track bar too......have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the track bar end from underneath. A loose track bar will definitely make the steering feel loose.

And probably just replace your intermediate steering shaft. Mine was out of spec under 36,000 miles and replaced under warranty. Dads 01.5 was replaced at 40,000 miles. He used a borgeson. Definitely recommend the DSS and a new trackbar - NOT stock... there are others that are better.

THUREN is the one i would go with if it would have been available when i upgraded to a new style track bar, any of the choices is better than what the factory put on there, THUREN,DT PROFAB, DARRIN'S, here are the links
