Steering Column Squeek

Anyone had problems with their steering column starting to squeek? It sounds like it is in the cab with me, but it may be propagating up the shaft or something. It seems to only squeek when I turn...naturally. I tried to search on the subject, but didn't find anything that I though was pertinent. Is there some bushings or gromments that I can lube up?

Thanks in advance.

I have a weird growl in mine when I turn......it's been there ever since I bought it and I can't figure out what it is or where it comes from. I also have a squeek but it sounds like that's somewhere in the dash.........

the growl is the bear, oh I mean the power steering pump. make sure there is enough fluid. you could look/change the fluid with the turkey baster trick. could be sucking air somewhere.

The power steerings fine ( it makes no noise at all )....the growl is actually coming from the column itself, sounds like it's right at the steering wheel. It's hard to explain.......

squeak

My truck has over 55K and the brake booster started speaking win I turned the wheel. Try steeping on the brake as you turn if it stops it might be the brake booster.Hope its not $750 bucks in parts later its fixed. NOT PART of drive train warranty Call D.C. no help at all.
Good luck keep us posted.

Take a look at this. Seems to be working for quite a few folks on TDR for squeaks, clunks, etc http://www.rocksolidramtrucksteering.com/
