I saw that in my local newspaper the other day, not real sure what to think. Is it the press trying to ease the AARP crowd into more active training and testing of motorcyclists? If so, will cars and RV's be next? Or did somebody just happen to notice that more people are riding motorcycles these days, and 'GASP' more people are getting killed on them due to the percentage of people getting removed from this earth on them hasn't changed?

If they can't make "90 year old granny-blue hair" who is deaf, legally blind, and can't see over the steering wheel without sitting on 4 phone books, take a Driver's Skills Retest for her to keep her driver's license, then how do they think this will pass?

Easy, there aren't half as many people riding motorcycles as there are people who have no business driving but pay the AARP for their lobbying. Pretty simple really. "Do we want to over-regulate the long haired biker on his obnoxious loud hog?" Or, "Do we want to over-regulate sweet Aunt Betty, who just gets a little confused once in a while, that's all." Of course, the last time I heard about a biker going the wrong way down an interstate and killing a family of five was......never, and you hear about it all the time for people that would have had now chance at passing even a remotely fair driving test. But I think we all know what's right and what actually happens once the politicians get ahold of something are two entirely different things.

haha too true. Who gives a rats behind what happens to the carcass after we go? I told my wife get me cooked up and throw me out the window of the car at 60 mph.

BTW every old goat on a straight piped harley should need the driving test.

Suuuure am glad my Harleys both have mufflers........
At least they'll pass the Nightstick in the tailpipe test anyway.

Hmmm. Which is more dangerous. A 70 year old on a 900 pound Ultra Classic or driving a 40,000 lb Prevost motorcoach? No rocket science here.....

As far as I am concerned every 2 years full physical, written and driving test. Your insurance rate reflects your score. (along with your driving record of course) CDL for any 5ver, trailer or motorcoach. That should clear some of the poor drivers off the roads.
