The truck will start-up ok on a regular basis. If I drive it for a period of time, then turn it off, then try to restart it, it seems like the starter is dragging(as if the battery was low). Sometimes it will catch after a ferw cranks, but it usually is hard to start.

The battery is fully charged.
It is a new starter.

any suggestions?

 

New or remanufactured? My reman. was acting intermittent like that for a bit then started draining the battery evry time I turned the key. Found it arcing against the block.

 

I have had rebuilt starters do that. Some of them are just junk. I don't think they test the armatures properly.
