my 07 5.9 has 80,000 on it, for the last couple of weeks makes a weird clicking noise when engaging the starter, almost like a weak battery would sound. Gauges come up while the heater cycles then after engine fires zero out for a couple seconds before coming back. Up until yesterday the check engine light hadnt come on, but remains on now. Took it to the dealer to see if it threw any code but I dont really trust the place that much so any advice or questions to ask them would be appreciated. Also while its there the dmv says theres a recall that needs to be performed before I can get my tags. Any info on this, Im sure its some California ********. There looking at the problem tomorrow, any advise greatly appreciated.

My 07 5.9 did this, this summer, almost the same mileage.
I thought the batteries took a crap, but the truck never skipped a beat up until that day.
Tried several times to start, it spun over slowly or not at all, wouldn't start, sounded like the starter wasn't engaging fully.
Put a set of jumper cables to it and it started IMMEDIATELY and spun over fast. Unhooked the cables and proceeded to start/shut off probably 10times, plenty of starting power. Checked the batteries, both at 14.8+V.
Cleaned the - terminals that had only a slight amt of corrosion on the bolts, all battery connections were clean and shiny.
Has not done this again and I have no idea what caused it, no did anyone on here. I posted a thread when it happened.
