Question what to stack with six gun?

I've been reading alot of threads concerning the six gun not being very peppy down low in the rpms. I know I'm a victim. Don't get me wrong, I've been very happy with the durability of the six-gun, I'm just ready for more. I've seen a few people stack smartys and BTD with it, but I dont want to push my truck over the limit. I would like to see more smoke come out of the stacks, though. Any suggestions on the most reliable programmer to stack with the banks?

I'm with you, bud. I have the six gun too, trying to find some answers here as well. I wanted to wait for my new tranny before stacking and I sure don't want to undo all the work going into the Banks. SO... I manned up and bought a smarty, should be here today. I'll let you know what I think of it once I get some time with it.

I'd sure appreciate it. I'm anxious for results! You didn't have problems running a boost fooler with banks? I tried it on mine and it actually got sluggish and showed 28psi. With it normal it now runs 34psi max.

Actually I am working with Quad on the fooler right now. Most I ever got with the turbo before the fooler was 23 psi. Put on the fooler and got... 23 psi. That was with the new wastegate elbow. Have now put in a plug in place of the elbow and got... 23 psi. No one seems to be able to explain. Boost is measured by mechanical Auto Meter gauge connected at intake horn.

I put a banks bighead wastegate actuator on mine awhile back and just manually turned it up. When I put the boost fooler on and cranked on the wastegate some more it left me at 28psi where it always maxed out. When I pulled it back off and tried it, I ended up at 34psi w/o touching the wastegate again. Its make a mean growl when you max it out now!

Ditch the bank$ and do it right. Many other components work together much better than with GBE stuff.

Too much $$$ in it to pull it out. And there are some good qualities by having it aboard. But yeah, if I had a chance to do it over, banks wouldnt be in the picture besides the pda maybe.

I'm in the same boat as you. Banks wouldn't be my first choice now, but it's what I have. I have been pleased with it's protective aspect. Too much money in it just to ditch it. Have a friend who stacked it with the BTD in his 03 system, and loves it. Let us know what you think about the Smarty stack. Be warned, BTD or Smarty stacked will be hard on the tranny, and big in the smile deptment.

So do you just unplug the banks from the diagnostic port, run a smarty, then plug the banks back in? I plan to upgrade the clutch in the near future, so I can smile wider!
