are most of the first gens on here running 5" stacks? I was just trying to decide between 5" or 6" stacks. I don't won't them to look like toothpicks, but I don't want them to look like overkill. All opinions are appreciated

What size stack(s) you go with, in my opinion, depends on the color and shape of your truck, it's body style, and the prescence of any headache rack, flat bed or tool box.

A picture would help me decide.

Although the really cool thing would be to take a couple stacks, turn them sideways, and mount them as sideliners down below you're running boards. That would be cool.

6's look cartoonish IMO. I think 5's look good. 4's look a little puny.

I have got 6's and I get compliments all the time. There is pictures in my gallery. I agree with Begle1 it all depends on the truck. Typically I think that regular cabs look better with fives and club cabs look good with either. Also it depends on if your going with a single or duals. A picture of the truck would be great.

If you're doing it for looks or appeararance then I'd guess you yourself are probably the most important opinion on the subject. If you are doing an exhaust job mainly for the peformance benefit, then there are just a few simple principles to keep in mind: Shorter and fatter with fewer and smaller bends all equals better flow.

I run 4" and think they are just right. I think its all personal preference. Anything over 6" looks overkill to me, but to each his own.

I'm as big a redneck as anyone, but stacks are just to redneck for me. But if i ean em they be 4 inch.

I like my 5" single. 6'' is too big unless it is a bull hauler.

My 7in miter doesnt look to bad maybe alittle overkill. I seem to like it more and more every time I look at it. Ive had a couple compliments and its only been on for a day. I agree, it all depends on your truck.

if you've got a single wheel truck and you want to run curved tops or tip-outs, go 5"... miter cuts you can get away with 6's... 7's are getting obnoxious, but if they're short enough, it might work... DO NOT put bull haulers on a single wheel truck!

if you've got a dualy, you can get away with 6" curved, tips, or bull haulers (they'd better not be a mile long!) 7" stacks is pushing it even on a dual wheel truck

Thanks for the input. I think I will go with a set of 5 inch tip outs from chromeroom.com. They are the cheapest I have found. Do they have a pretty good reputation?(don't want to get scammed)

chromeroom is good, bought from them many times. just make sure you don't buy their blems because they are definately blemished!!!!
