SRT hood should I buy it?

My buddy wrecked his truck and it's an srt dodge 06. It's black and it has small dent in it. He wants $300 for it. I will need to take it to the body shop pay for the dent work and repainting it graphite grey to match my truck. Is the air scoop just for looks or does it reaaly do something for a truck? Should I go throught the trouble or will that be a waste?

it is functional on a real srt10 truck. would be just for looks on ours unless you got the scoop parts to do it.

It would be a waste. You can get a new one for about $600. So what you are paying for used you can buy new

I would say 200 MAX. I'm giving my friend a 100 bucks for his stock hood (he did the srt hood), and it's in good shape.

However, if it's worth it for you, ya do what you have to.

I priced one a while back from the dealer here in Weatherford and they said $1100.00

WOW! My friend got his on the truck pain matched for 800 about a year ago from the dealer.

Just gotta shop around. Like I said, if that's as good of a deal as you can get, then you have to go with it.

I've considered getting the SRT hood and fabricating ductwork that would sent the additional air toward the back of the block. Since the back of the block and the firewall area are rather 'heat' congested, it might serve to cool down the rear cylinders some???

You can get a good price from a dealership on a painted, ready to install hood, I'd shop around. By the time you buy it used, get it painted, you'd probably have the same money in it.

My dealer(will be closing) added about 30 bucks to that price and told me they could have it in 3 days. You can try ordering online and check what frieght will be.

How bad is it dented? Get an estimate on how much its going to be to fix & repaint. I think your still gonna to come out a head over buying a new one, depending on how bad it is.

Hit up someone looking to do side work and i'll bet you could get done for half the price a body shop would charge..

The dent is a small $50 dent but paint is $275. I talked to the dealer they said it's $789 for the hood and the rest for painting, as well as blending the fenders in order for the paint to match
