Can you give us some help with what year of truck you are talking about and other pertinent information? Like 2 or 4 wheel drive? Is the squeek when going over bumps or turning the wheels? If you will do that I'm sure that we can help you out.

Well, there are a couple of squeaks you possibly have. I have two different ones. One is the linkage squeak that is actualy under your truck. But, I have one in my steering column that only squeaks when I'm turned slightly in one direction or the other and going over small bumps. That's the one I hate. I pretty sure that's from the bushing in the column itself.

I had a squeek and it was driving me nuts because I couldn't locate it. Then someone on this forum told me to look at the top of the fuel tank. The tank was just barely rubbing on the bottom of the bed or the cab...can't remember which one now. I sprayed some lithium grease where it was contacting and I haven't heard a peep out of it since. Just a thought.

i had a nasty squeak from the auto trans linkage that drove me crazy for months. there is a horizontal rod that connects the up/down linkage to the front/back linkage. it has plastic/nylon bushings on each end. mine would sort of rattle when you shut the drivers door and it would squeak whenever the truck was moving. whenever i got out and tried to find it, and there was no body motion, it would be silent. i found it one day when i had the hood about half way up and sort of twisted the hood and rocked the truck. had the wife rock it while i smeared grease all over the bushings and it shut up.
