Squeaking 4wd shifter

Ive got an 07 5.9 4wd quad cab with 7500 miles. The 4wd box where the shifter comes through to the cab squeaks terribly while driving (usually in 2wd). The shifter and transfer case moves with the engine torque while driving and is causing this. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions to cure it. Its anoying as hell!

Thanks,

Clay

My 04.5 did this quite a bit...IIRC I sprayed some silicone or something on it and fixed it temporarily. DO a search here I think there is a better answer to fix this.

Thanks. I did a search and found nothing that was relevant to a 6spd, just automatic squeaks.

Mine did the same thing. I popped the rubber boot for the shifter up and sprayed WD-40 on the linkage. Snapped the boot back in place and have not heard another squeak out of it.
