Speedometer calibrate

Geeze, call the ******* to find out how much they would charge to calibrate my speedometer after installing taller tires.....they quoted me $85.00- $130.00! The service person said it depends on how difficult it is to reprogram, how hard can it be and why the price spread?

thats usually how much it is... before i had a handheld for my cobra they charged me 115 to recal the speedo after i put 4.10's in the cobra. its better to just get the handheld liek device because there are many benifits and money savers with having one.

You can't recalibrate your 06 to anything larger than a 285/70/17 at the dealership.

You could find someone local with a smarty to tune/calibrate/detune your truck... probably only cost a few beers.

Good idea!

Anyone near Sedona Arizona with a tuner to help me out?

I just ordered a smarty jr, now I'll be able to calibrate for any size tires I put on and get a little performance boost too.

When you change your pinion factor on an auto does it change the shift points of the trans.? If so is that change really going to be noticable between a 265 and a 285 tire. Its only a 3.5 % rpm change
