Well I think my vss went out on my '92 my speedo started jumping then completely quit working so I tried my spare speedo and nothing what do u guys think

I had a similar problem and it was a bad wiring connection at the vss. I cleaned up the connector and put some dielectric grease on it and it has been fine ever since.

Where exactly is the vss located

It's on your transmission for 2 wheel drive, transfer case 4 wheel drive.

So my truck kind of does the same thing... works great for a bit then bounces around, doing 35 m[h it will read 110, then will go to zero, the trans shifts up and down. you guys figure its the same thing then?
