Hi, new to the forum and looking for some ideas/help with a vibration problem.

'99 2500 TD QC 2WD Auto 117K

I get a really bad vibration at 65-70mph. Things I have done: tires balanced, alignment, replaced one slightly bent rim, replaced driveshaft (story on that) with a brand new one with new u-joints.

The whole truck shimmys at the speeds I mentioned and I cannot tell if it is originating from the front or rear of the truck. I have scheduled maintenance performed at specified intervals and generally keep good care of it.

Is the vibration under load, if you put in neutral does the vibration go away or you say it shimmy does the steering move when it does this or does the vechical just shake.

Just got it back from the shop. The vehicle just shook all over, not through the steering wheel. Turns out it was the tires. I was told my tires were out of round (egg shaped) even though they were correctly balanced at this time. Had to replace with new tires. No more vibration and shaking!
