Southbend OFE + dealers + hp goals
#1 - Alright. Here is the low down. Truck is a daily driver. Rarely ever pull anything and if anything its only 7000lb or so (maybe once a year). Mainly just driving around/horsing around. Would like to get to the drag strip once or twice, but not frequently. No sled pulling. Mods as of now are just smarty, straight pipe and filter. my future list of mods will just be upgrading to the beta smarty when it comes out, a pressure box and turbo and thats it. So no more than 500-550hp at most and i've read alot of people being able to run the ofe's that high. I'm pretty sure an OFE will suit me just good. Really don't wanna spend the cash on a double disk and I think it would be a little overkill. Any opinions on my current and future setup?
#2 - Is there a way to order southbend clutches from DTR. I've heard of a guy named Peter I think.
#3 - I'm from Western Pennsylvania so has anyone dealt with Bowser Performance out of Mayport, Pa, or anyone dealt with Liberator Performance out of Carlisle, Pa. Both are Southbend distributors and realitivly close to me.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks

if drag racing i would go with the DD 3250 that will soot your HP goals and you will never have to worry about burning up the single disk.
yes i have heard about your the dealers you have mentioned
the 3600 is probably your best bet i am in the process of looking at and deciding on witch clutch to go with

For the clutch, I would call Pete direct at Southbend and let him know what you are doing. All of the guys there are knowledgable and will lead you down the right path. I have found the prices to be similar to venders when you buy direct. As far as Liberator goes, PM me and I will let you know about my experience with them. I dont like to badmouth on here and it could have been an isolated case.

My OFE held up to 555/960, goofing off, dynos and some drag racing. Never showed any signs of slippage.
I don't think it would take well to 3rd gear launches, as it's asking a bit much of a single disc.
