i am surprised at how quiet my 600 is on the inside. the 65-70mph drone really isn't much worse than stock, but then again my cat is still there. at any rate the grin factor should outweigh any concerns.

I'd leave the CAT... just because I'm not too keen on that possibly being thrown back at me later on. Besides, it's so small I don't think it'd make much of a difference. Anyhow, I've straight pipped mine and you've heard it before... haven't you?

I went the straight pipe route for awhile after losing my muffler and cat. Not bad at idle or light throttle, but when giving it pedal with a load, it was too much for me, raspy. For fifty bucks, I had my local muffler shop weld in a 4 inch glass pack with the scallops inside facing forward (the quietest way) and now the truck sounds awesome. Louder than stock with a deep powerful tone like a big truck. Straight piping is loud but just does'nt sound GOOD to me. Threw this out in case you don't like the straight pipe either.

I ended up putting a 36" magnaflow right at the downpipe because of the raspiness of the straight pipe. I regret doing it though, since it's "too" quiet.

Hopefully this'll work for you when you get around to it... it's on geocities so it can only be downloaded so many times and then the site shuts down till it's good to go for another couple runs.

Bubba: listened to your straight pipe. Sounds good. I was surprised, very mellow sound. Sounds like it still is muffed.

Yup, I left the Kitty Kat on there... figured it was there for a reason and who knows where the military will send me and what kind of ***** I'll have looking over the truck for inspection or if something goes wrong with it.

Thanks for the sound clip.
Sounds great!
Have you done any silencer ring/inflo tube modifications?
