Sometimes starts fast, sometimes a crank or two slower

Just an observation on my truck, been listening since I got it. The truck has never started as quick as the 2gen. I expected a "crank crank fire". Instead, my truck goes crank crank crank fire, or 4 cranks and fire.

Yesterday as I started up to pull out from getting diesel on the road, it finally clicked that the truck fires quicker after the truck is started after its been running. I got crank crank fire (like I expect the Rams to do).

Then I got worried. Do have an injector problem?

Occasionally mine does the same thing. About 5 cranks for me without fail. The other day after parking the truck, came back to it about 45m later, and it was like you said, crank fire. Kind of scared the **** out of me how fast it started. Sometimes it's crazy fast, sometimes it's the crank crank crank crank crank fire. I'm not sure what the explanation is, but I guess I'm also a bit curious...

Because the ECM has to time everything based on sensors the HPCR's are slower to start than the 2nd gen trucks. 2-4 cranks is normal.

Ahh. See and I use to laugh at F*rds because they'd crank long before firing.

The truck sounds healthier and stronger to fire right off...but nooo.
