I LOVE mine, It stacks so perfectly with the 50hp Dr P. stage 1 that I have. I tried running it by itself on 50 and 90hp so far but the Predator really gives it alot more low end. My mileage seems to be way up too. Your 130hp box would only be able to stack with the 50 HP tow function of the BDDL but you would be very impressed and the truck would love the extra timing. My truck even sound better with the timing added, it is so smooth. In closing here I do think that the BDDL feels kind of weak down low(I have not tried the 130HP program) but the added pressure box with it works Awesome. If you were to run them stacked(with your 130HP worth of pressure) there would be too much pressure on anything but the 50HP BDDL program. BDDL, 90hp=30hp worth of pressure, 130HP=way more pressure?

Waiting on my Power Pup - Once it comes I will test the 130 hp setting + stage 1 Predator, Then try combos of the TST,Predator & Pup.

Stage 1 predator is an awsome little module - Perfect for stacking!

See I told you so. i was not that impressed with the BDDL alone but the Stage 1 made it very nice. I am having problems getting the power to the ground though, it is all getting sucked up by the stock Torque converter.

blownaway,

Start saving your pennies for the new tranny. I had an Edge EZ on my stock 48re, left its mark in my pan. The clutch pak was slowly being worn away. It was caught when my ATS Stage 3 was installed, and no long term damage occured, but it wouldn't have been long. I only ran the Edge for about 10,000 miles, on setting 4, roughly 70hp. And I babied her, no power launches or racing, just back and forth to work, and a rare trailer tow. I would get on it entering the e-way, but that was about it. Good luck.

I am also fairly easy on the trans and usually only really get on it while the trans is already locked up, I worked as an auto tech for over ten years and am very aware of whats going on mechanically but even then realize it is a matter of time for the stock trans. for the most part I have run with a 50HP - 50HP stack. it runs very well that way. Maybe I should just leave the Predator off for now. I have been thinking about a valve body and T.C. do you think it would be enough?

The BDDL on Extreme can be a wild ride for sure. I enjoy mine and it stacks well. The performance program will go pretty good, but is not anything special. The BDDL on Extreme has better get-up-and-go off the line than the TST, but doesn’t pull as hard as the TST up top. My TST had a lot more torque overall. The new TST program just doesn't fuel as aggressively at low boost. While I like the downloader and won’t be getting rid of it, I still think the TST is a better choice for raw power and adjustability if you can get it to run on your truck without throwing codes. For the price, the BDDL is hard to beat….runs good, no codes. I have the latest program and the flat spot is totally gone. Acceleration is much better. I would recommend purchasing from one of the vendors here that sent in their old stock for new units to ensure you get the latest program. Your dealer will know it was there as well, so think about that before you buy.

blownaway,

TC and VB will help immensly! I would also recommend some sort of TC lockup box. I have the ATS Commander, told by busy diesel/tranny shop that installed it, that it was the best out right now. DTT and BD-Power also make a box, but said shop sells and installs all 3 of these brands, they recommend the ATS Commander. Not trying to start a tranny war, just going by what the doctor said. And he sells and installs the big 3, so no bias on his part, I hope.

And I did run my truck for a few miles without the Commander installed. The shop that installed the TC and VB, wouldn't touch the Commander. But, once it was installed, night and day difference in shifting. Everything was much smoother, I believe it does a bit more then just locking up the TC.

Wouldn't just the valve body help for now by increasing line pressure to hold the clutches. I may have to do this in stages. Would there be much benefit in just the valve body without the T.C?

I'm wondering the same thing. It doesn't seem my tranny will last long at all considering I'm pushing 724 ft/lb of torque at 2,500rpm (only rpm I did the math for.. no optical pickup). I'm sure I'm making more than that lower rpms. Most people tell me anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month, doesn't seem hopeful. I might just have to put it back to stock until I can afford a stage5 tranny.

Looks like it is at the rear wheels I wonder if my 555 would smoke like yours, I have been too scared to try the 130HP program. I am running the 90HP alone right now.

Your 48re isn't going to be happy with you, I can say that much. To make 400whp @ 2,500rpm you need 720 ft/lb of torque.
