Snow and open airbox

Just a heads up to anyone like me who has a hole cut in the bottom of their airbox and nothing to screen it. Was busting thru drifts the other morning on the way to work and started losing power. Come to find out the air filter was covered in snow an ice and eventually went into limp home mode. Just wanted to let you guys know before you found out like me.

If you are running a stock paper filter, I strongly suggest you get a new one. The paper will break down real fast now. Been there and done that once. Just a heads up.

Yeah here's a heads up

I've been using the new "paper filters" from cummins/fleetguard and they come with a 1/4" piece of green foam glued to the paper. Foam also holds water and snow very well. Live on the pacific northwest coast with the mountains so I know from experience. Maybe I don't get or need the big air flow on a stock truck but you can't argue which one filters to a smaller particle size....or can you?
