smoke switch question

hey ya'll newby here...i see alot of yins mentioning a smoke switch but i see alotta instructions pertaining to a box associated with it.my question is is there any way to make a smoke switch on an 01 24 valve with out using a box?

thanks for the answer..would a chip such as a power puck work or do you hafta run somethin along the lines of a quad or edge chip?

as far as i know just quad or edge
but
if you get a adrenaline you wont have to worry about a smoke switch because you can add so much fuel its crazy
all the switch did on a quad was bring the fuel on sooner
it tricked it to full fuel at 0psi instead of 20psi or 5v
